P&G and Local Broadcasters – A Shared History and Shared Commitment

Procter & Gamble was awarded the 2021 Corporate Leadership Award by the National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation.

What do P&G and local broadcasters have in common? A shared history of bringing compelling programming and information to local communities – and a shared commitment to having a positive impact for people and families in those communities.

P&G was an early innovator in working with local broadcasters, from sponsoring the “Ma Perkins” radio serial which aired nationally in 1933, to introducing our first TV commercial – for Ivory Soap – in 1939, just five months after the introduction of television in the U.S.

Just as local broadcasters strive to add value to their communities, P&G has a long commitment to community service at the local, national and global level. We believe the smallest acts can make a big impact on the world. And that an equal world, a sustainable world, is a better world — for everyone.

P&G is humbled to receive the 2021 National Association of Broadcasters Leadership Foundation Corporate Leadership Award and stand among local radio and television honorees who are making a difference in their communities.

The NABLF Awards honor the dedication and community service that makes local broadcasting essential to communities. Each year, the Corporate Leadership Award is given to a leading business outside of the broadcast industry that exemplifies an extraordinary focus on community service and corporate responsibility.

The NAB Celebration of Service to America Awards is airing now through August 14th on more than 600 local TV and radio stations in 210 markets across the U.S. Click here to find the date and time of your local broadcast.
