Always is Stepping Up to Help. Period.

It's time for action

Periods don’t stop during pandemics, and neither does P&G’s commitment to serving people around the world.

Over the past couple of months, our period brands Always, Whisper & Orkid have been stepping up to provide additional help during these challenging times. This includes announcing our continued support of Menstrual Hygiene Day on May 28. Together with WASH United, the founders of Menstrual Hygiene Day, we will continue tackling the period-related barriers that limit many girls and women around the world.

This Menstrual Hygiene Day, we’re doubling down our efforts to tackle period stigma. We’re inviting everyone to join the movement for a world without period poverty and period stigma by driving awareness of the new Menstruation Bracelet - a simple yet powerful symbol. People can show their support by posting an image of the bracelet using the hashtags #ItsTimeForAction and #MHDay2020.

The Always team is promoting open dialogue about periods to help show the world that they’re normal. Watch some of the Always team talk about what it’s like to work on a menstrual care brand.

Throughout the global relief response to the coronavirus pandemic, Always’ first priority has been producing and shipping pads to stores as fast as we can and donating them to those most in need through our charity partners. Our teams in Product Supply have been working around the clock to make sure they can keep products available. We’re grateful for their dedication to ensuring everyone can continue managing their periods with confidence.

Additionally, Always committed more than $1.5 million in product and monetary donations to COVID-19 relief efforts globally. In the United States, Always is donating more than 5 million period products to help those affected by the crisis via Feeding America, Matthew 25 Ministries, and PERIOD.org. Across the European region, Always donated 7.9 million pads to foodbanks and is working with the International Federation of Red Cross (IFRC) and local NGOs to donate personal hygiene kits. The Always Latin America team donated products to multiple partners, including United Way, World Vision and the Red Cross, and the teams in India and China also made donations to frontline and healthcare workers.

We know many girls haven’t been able to get puberty, period and confidence education in school because of lockdowns. That’s why we’ve been focusing on finding relevant ways to ensure girls, and their caretakers, still have access to the information they need to navigate their periods with confidence. This work includes a new Parent Hub on the UK website - which will be rolling out globally, launching our first app in Turkey, and providing free period & puberty consultations with experts in Russia.
