P&G Maintains Elite Status as a Gartner Supply Chain Master

In its 15th annual Supply Chain Top 25 rankings report, leading industry consulting firm Gartner once again named P&G among its Supply Chain Masters, a separate class of companies that have demonstrated long-term, consistent excellence.

Gartner’s Supply Chain Top 25 recognizes large manufacturers, retailers and distributors that demonstrate supply chain leadership in customer-driven partnerships, advanced analytics and corporate social responsibility. This year’s rankings report cites personalization at scale, leveraging ecosystems, and driving business-led digital strategies as the most common traits of today’s supply chain leaders.

The distinguished category of “Master” is reserved for companies that have ranked in the top five for at least 7 of the past 10 years. P&G, Apple, Amazon, McDonald’s and Unilever are the only companies in the 2019 Master category. The Masters category is considered separate from—and higher than—the Supply Chain Top 25, which is based on a range of financial, corporate social responsibility and opinion-based criteria.

In describing P&G’s distinction of Master, Gartner cited P&G’s supply chain excellence the areas of speed of response across channels from eCommerce to Brick & Mortar, driving the use of Artificial Intelligence and Robotic Process Automation, and for de-coupling top-line growth from waste, water and energy footprints, which are going down.
