P&G’s Executive Chairman A.G. Lafley accepted the recognition on behalf of the Company, saying:

“I want to thank and recognize all of the P&Gers over the years – now almost 180 years – who have helped make our company more diverse and inclusive at every level — our Directors, our Company leadership team, business leadership teams, country leadership teams, and over 100,000 P&Gers around the world. Throughout P&G and particularly on our Board, we want the absolute best minds bringing their diverse external experiences and perspectives, and challenging our thinking as we work every day to improve the lives of consumers around the world. I applaud today’s event, which brings focus to the need to bring more qualified women onto corporate boards. Frankly, it’s just good business sense – good business practice.”

The event brought together an audience of over 650, including CEOs and Board directors along with business leaders, government officials, thought leaders and influential media in special recognition of forward-thinking companies.

Chief Legal Officer Debbie Majoras also attended the event with A.G. in New York, as well as current P&G Board members Ken Chenault, Chairman and CEO of the American Express Company; Terry Lundgren, Chairman and CEO of Macy’s, Inc.; and former P&G Board member Maggie Wilderotter, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Frontier Communications. All of those current and former Board members' companies were recognized as well.

Former P&G Board member and Executive Chairman of Frontier Communications Maggie Wilderotter introduced A.G., saying:

“My years on the Board of Directors at P&G were a masterclass in many areas, but especially in diversity and inclusion. The board has a terrific set of women board members including Meg Whitman, Pat Woertz, Sue Desmond-Hellmann and Angela Braly. A.G. was one of the first leaders to link the company’s success to understanding the needs of the communities where we live and work. He knows that being a good company — a respected and valued company — means having employees, customers and suppliers who are diverse and who bring the richness of their experience to Procter & Gamble.”

Diversity and inclusion is in our DNA at P&G. We view diversity in the broadest sense — not only gender, race or ethnicity, but also skills, experiences and qualifications. We’re proud to have individuals from so many different backgrounds, cultures, and working and thinking styles, providing remarkably different talents, perspectives, and life and career experiences, here at P&G!
