This week, we’re celebrating the 20-year anniversary of our Mason Business Center (MBC), one of P&G’s largest technical facilities!
The one-of-a-kind facility, originally named the Health Care Research Center, officially opened its doors on July 19, 1995, after three years of construction.
Located about 20 miles north of P&G’s downtown Cincinnati headquarters, the 1.3 million-square-foot facility sits on 253 rolling acres in Mason, Ohio. P&G leadership chose the site because of its size, its convenient access to other P&G Cincinnati locations, and the progressive, forward-thinking community around it.
Everything about the building’s design speaks to its focus on collaboration. Wide corridors, open workspaces, large laboratories, tranquil outdoor spaces and inviting common areas make it a highly collaborative and desirable place to work.
By 2005, the Health Care Research Center’s work had spanned beyond Heath Care to include other businesses and functions that had taken up residence in the collaborative space. To better reflect the scope and mission of all employees at the facility, its name was officially changed to the Mason Business Center.
Today, nearly 1,600 employees work on the site, a number that is slated to grow very soon. Construction recently began to further expand the facility with a new Beauty Innovation Center, which is due to open in 2018-2019. The new addition will bring the Beauty and Health technical communities together in a creative, dynamic environment that will drive capability and collaboration, and inspire innovation for decades to come.
